Perspective LA: Sunbrella & Architectural Digest
I was asked to take part in Perspective LA, a project in which Sunbrella, in collaboration with Architectural Digest, asks a collection of designers about their unique perspectives, and how fabric helps shape them. Our mission, then, was to create a space, indoor or outdoor, that represented our own perspective through the use of Sunbrella fabrics. Other then that, there were no rules, restrictions, or limitations. And I just so happen to utilize Sunbrella fabrics on almost all of my projects, and definitely not only for outdoor spaces, so I was thrilled at the opportunity.
Well today is the day!
After traveling to Capri I couldn't think of a better point of inspiration. The Europeans seem to live so effortlessly, casually blending work and play. What Sunbrella does so well is remove concern of entertaining, of actually living on and among your furniture and fabrics. Their fabrics are incredibly durable, and no longer are simply used outside. Not only do they look fabulous, but they give clients, and their designers, peace of mind, truly allowing them to relax and enjoy
DREAMING OF CAPRI: I envisioned an ethereal dining space that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor, between dreams and reality. Inspired by the Isle of Capri, I created an indoor garden terrace, softly lit, and grounded by rich terracotta and tranquil Aegean blue. Latticed archways, draped in climbing plants, frame the space and compel dinner guests to lose themselves in the romantic Mediterranean fantasy.
