How to use granite without the look of granite

Currently I am working on a Kitchen in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego.    The clients wanted to use granite for their counter tops because of its durability.  Although I admire its ability to resist staining and scratching, I feel that granite was overused in the early part of the decade and can make a kitchen look dated.  That is until I found this slab at Dal Tile.  WOW, it blew me away!  It is a Copper Legnia that has an antique/leathering finish.  Its low luster, veining, and movement remind me of a sumptuous slab of marble.  Inventive finishes are truly breathing new life into granite!
